In 2021, Outlets at the Border was rebranded as Plaza Palmera after the owner of the property The Shamrock Group LLC shuttered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this new addition of the outlet never reached full capacity in leasing. Plaza Palmera leasing was taken over by Bridge33[6] until December 2023, when Plaza Palmera was later taken over by the Simon Property Group and rebranded and merged with the more successful Las Americas Premium Outlets.[7]
