Lemont Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 22,645 and it contained 8,580 housing units.[1]

Geography

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Lemont Township has a total area of 21.02 square miles (54.44 km2), of which 20.37 square miles (52.76 km2) (or 96.90%) is land and 0.65 square miles (1.68 km2) (or 3.10%) is water.[2]

The average household size was 2.90 and the average family size was 3.29.

The township's age distribution consisted of 23.1% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 20.8% from 25 to 44, 28.9% from 45 to 64, and 19.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43.9 years. For every 100 females, there were 100.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.5 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $117,900, and the median income for a family was $135,191. Males had a median income of $72,618 versus $43,533 for females. The
