The 14th National Assembly of Pakistan was the legislature of
Majlis-e-Shura. The election saw each of Parliament's 272 geographical constituencies return one MP to the National Assembly. It resulted in a
Nisar Ali Khan as permanent Leader of the Opposition.[5] Ayaz Sadiq and Murtaza Javed Abbasi of PML-N were elected as the legislature’s speaker and deputy speaker, respectively.[6]
Members of the 14th National Assembly took an oath on 1 June 2013,[7] and marked the constitutional transition of power from one democratically elected government to another for the first time in the history of Pakistan.[8]
