Following the 2014 election defeat and her defeat from the Riksdag, Larsson announced that she will leave politics and step down as deputy party leader in 2015.[2]

She is a trained schoolteacher, and is married with three children. She was a

Member of Parliament from 1998 to 2014 representing Jönköping County
, and deputy chairman of the Christian Democrats from 2003 to 2015.
