Monument with Standing Beast is a
Daley Center to the southeast. It is a 29-foot (8.8 m) white fiberglass work of art.[1] The piece is a 10-ton or 20,000 pounds (9,100 kg) work.[2] It was unveiled on November 28, 1984.[2]
This is one of Dubuffet's three
One Chase Manhattan Plaza.[3]
The sculpture is one of 19 commissioned artworks funded under the State of Illinois Art-in-Architecture Program throughout the building.Capital Development Board of Illinois.[3]
The sculpture is affectionately known to many Chicagoans as "Snoopy in a blender".[3][4]
