Biography

Nikša Gligo was born in Split, PR Croatia, FPR Yugoslavia on 6 April 1946.^[1] His scientific interests included 20th-century music, music terminology, the aesthetics of music, and music semiology.^[2] He has been involved with the Music Biennale Zagreb in various capacities from 1973 to 1991 and from 2002.^[1] He served as the art director of the 10th Biennale in 1979.^[3] He was a full member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts from 2006^[1] and a member of section Musicology & History of Art & Architecture of the Academia Europaea from 2014.^[4] Gligo died on 10 February 2023, at the age of 77.^[5]
