Oak Park Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois and its boundaries are coterminous with the village of Oak Park.[2] As of the 2020 census, the population was 54,583.[3]

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Oak Park Township has a total area of 4.70 square miles (12.17 km2), all land.[4]

The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 3.14.

The township's age distribution consisted of 23.8% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 27.5% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40.6 years. For every 100 females, there were 87.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.5 males.
