Political Career and Elected Responsibilities

His leadership within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) extended to serving as the Ward Committee Chairman, Improvement Committee Chairman and Group Leader in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) from 1997 to 2007, where he played a pivotal role in municipal affairs.

Parag Alavani further solidified his political standing by contesting and winning the Vile Parle Assembly seat in 2014 with a margin of 32,750 votes and securing 74,241 votes.

Subsequently, in 2019 he won with an impressive margin of 58,427 votes by securing 84,991 votes and earning widespread support from his constituents.

Early Political Years

Parag Alavani began his illustrious political journey by securing elections as a class representative, and university representative, and later ascending to the prestigious position of Chairman of the Mumbai University Student Council. His leadership skills and dedication were further evident as he served as a member of the Senate of Mumbai University.

In subsequent years, Parag Alavani was elected as a Municipal Councilor in both 1997 and 2002, where he played a pivotal role in municipal governance for a decade. During his tenure as a Municipal Councilor, he held the esteemed responsibility of Chairman of the Ward Committee, overseeing critical developmental projects and initiatives in the community.

Leadership and Organisational Engagement

Throughout his career, Parag Alavani has been deeply involved in student and youth movements, advocating for educational development and community engagement. During his student days, he served as the Secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, demonstrating his leadership abilities and commitment to student welfare.

Subsequently, Parag Alavani held significant roles within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including serving as the Mumbai President for BJP Yuva Morcha. He progressed through various positions within the party, from booth committee member to Mumbai Vice President, contributing to organisational growth and strategic initiatives.

In addition to his political endeavours, Parag Alavani is also an accomplished author, having written a book titled "523 Chaukdyanche Rajkaran" in 2011. This publication explores the intricacies of the Town Planning Scheme, showcasing his expertise and thought leadership in urban development and governance.

Community Leadership and Social Initiatives

Parag Alavani is actively involved in various social activities aimed at community development and empowerment. He serves as the President of the Vile Parle Cultural Centre, an NGO dedicated to promoting social, cultural, sports, and educational initiatives. The organisation also focuses on empowering women and supporting families below the poverty line (BPL).

Under Parag Alavani's leadership, the Vile Parle Cultural Centre has successfully organised the annual "Parle Mahotsav," Mumbai's largest and most popular event for the past 22 years. This festival attracts over 60 thousand participants across 35 events, with more than 6000 prizes distributed, including 350 First Prizes.

As a Nodal Agency for the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) Janashri Bima Yojana since 2007, Parag Alavani has facilitated the insurance of over 7500 workers from the unorganised sector, providing them with essential financial security.
