Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky District (

2010 Census, the total population of the district was 37,900, with the population of the administrative center accounting for 48.9% of that number.[3]

History

The district was established on January 4, 1926.[1]

Administrative and municipal status

administrative center.[1]

As a

municipal division, the territory of the district is split between two municipal formations—Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky Municipal District,[6] to which three urban-type settlements and twenty-two of the administrative district's rural localities belong,[12] and Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky Urban Okrug,[6] which covers the rest of the administrative district's territory, including the town of Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky.[13]
