Raúl José Asencio Moraes (born 20 May 1998) is a Spanish footballer of Brazilian descent who plays as a forward for Italian Serie C Group C club Potenza.

Genoa

A graduate of the

Pisa.[2]

Loan to Avellino

In order to gain first team opportunities, Asencio joined Italian second tier club

Salernitana.[11] Asencio ended his loan to Avellino with 32 appearances, 7 goals and 1 assist.[12]

Loan to Benevento

On 3 August 2018, Asencio was loaned out to

Palermo.[18] Asencio ended his loan with 23 appearances, 3 goals and 3 assists.[12]

Loan to Pisa

On 6 August 2019, Asencio joined

Pisa on loan until 30 June 2020.[19] His loan was terminated early with 3 league appearances and 1 Coppa Italia
appearance, all as substitute.

Loan to Cosenza

On 17 January 2020, he moved on loan to Cosenza in Serie B until the end of the season.[20]

Loan to Pescara

After appearing on the bench for Genoa in their first

Crotone, on 28 September 2020 he joined Pescara on loan.[21]

Loan to SPAL

On 1 February 2021, Asencio joined

SPAL, on a loan deal.[22]

Alcorcón

Asencio returned to Spain on 10 August 2021, after signing a two-year contract with Segunda División side AD Alcorcón.[23] On 20 December, he posted a story on his Instagram profile showing himself driving at over 160 kilometres per hour while holding a coffee with the other hand;[24] the following day, his contract with the club was terminated.[25]

Lecce

On 20 January 2022, he returned to Italy and signed a contract with

Lecce until 30 June 2022, with an option to extend for another season and another 3-year extension option.[26]

Cittadella

On 21 June 2022, Asencio moved to

Cittadella.[27]

Potenza

On 27 August 2023, Asencio signed a two-year contract with Potenza in Serie C.[28]
