Life and career

Errington is the son of a teacher. He studied

Hatfield College Boat Club.[2] In 1961 he achieved a first-class BA.[3] In 1966 he received his PhD from Durham.[4]

From 1966 to 1973 he served as a lecturer and reader at the

Eastern and Western Roman Empire. He is a full member of the German Archaeological Institute. From 2001 to 2007 he was project manager of the Inscriptiones Graecae
