Personal

Schlicher was born in

Chattanooga.[3] He was an alumnus of Red Bank High School and attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 1978 and JD from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1981.[4]

Schlicher was fluent in French and Arabic.[5]

After his diplomatic career ended (sometime after 2011[6]) he settled down in Brentwood, Tennessee, where he died in 2019.[1]
