Elliott was born in

6PM.[1] Elliott had four children, Scott, Margot, Robin and Geoff. Geoff Elliott also had a career in journalism, starting as a cadet at The West Australian before a 15-year career at The Australian, where he was Washington correspondent (2005-2009) and Business Editor.[3] He is now Joint Managing Partner at government and media relations firm GRACosway.[4]

A member of the Liberal Party since 1948, Elliott ran for parliament at the

Golden West Network from 1975 to 1980, as well as in a variety of other roles.[1] A founder of the West Australian Football Register, he was posthumously inducted into the West Australian Football Hall of Fame in 2004.[6]
