Sapa (Prague's Little Hanoi)
Sapa, officially TTTM Sapa (Vietnamese: Trung Tâm Thương Mại Sapa), sometimes called Prague's Little Hanoi, or simply Prague's Hanoi, is the largest Vietnamese enclave in the Czech Republic, located in Libuš and Kunratice districts.[1] It was created in the area of a former poultry farm around 2000 and is often referred to as a "city within a city" by the media. After Ukrainians and Slovaks, the Vietnamese are the largest ethnic minority in the country, with Sapa being the so-called Czech "Vietnamese capital".[2] Sapa offers many restaurants, food stands, specialized grocery stores, a warehouse club called Tamda Foods, warehouses, tutoring and childcare services, places for meetings, social events, and a Buddhist temple. The total area of Sapa is 35 hectares (86 acres), and around seven thousand people work there.[1]
