In [[Rotterdam]], 51 people were arrested, while in [[Limburg (Netherlands)|Limburg province]], there were 13 arrests, 8 arrests in [[Urk]], and 19 arrests in [[The Hague]]. Riots also in [[Enschede]], [[Leeuwarden]] and [[Tilburg]], according to local media. The Dutch authorities used water cannons, dogs and mounted police to stop the rioting youth who set fires and threw stones at the officers. The riots were primarily caused by the public reaction to new governmental [[:nl:Coronatoegangsbewijs (Nederland)|COVID-19 prevention measures]], and rioters consisted of both civilians and members of far-right groups. Three rioters were seriously injured when police opened fire on them, while a fourth suffered minor injuries. Additionally, four rioters and five police officers sustained minor injuries during the unrest.
