Digimon Fusion: Difference between revisions

Three and a quarter years after the end of the fifth series, this new series was confirmed by Bandai. The official name of the show was revealed in the June issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine.^[1] The first Digimon to be revealed for this new series were Shoutmon, Dorurumon, Ballistamon, Shoutmon x4, Monitormon, and a new redesign of Greymon.^[2] Character designs in Xros Wars are similar to the previous Digimon series (except Digimon Data Squad), including the wearing of goggles by the main character. This series is supported with a new card game, toys, and a manga series appearing in V Jump magazine.

Plot

Team Xros Heart

Taiki Kudo (工藤 タイキ, Kudō Taiki)

The protagonist of the series and leader of Team Xros Heart, Taiki is an upbeat 7th grade boy who helps anyone in need. He excels in all sports and has a charming personality that wins over humans and digimon alike, though he has a tendency to overexert himself and pass out. His Digimon partner is Shoutmon and is given the Xros Loader to help Shoutmon DigiXros with other Digimon.

Akari Hinomoto (陽ノ本 アカリ, Hinomoto Akari)

A kind and devoted sixth grade girl, who supports Taiki no matter what. She acts as Team Xros Heart's peacemaker.

Zenjiro Tsurugi (剣 ゼンジロウ, Tsurugi Zenjirō)

Taiki's classmate and self-proclaimed eternal rival. He is a practitioner of kendo and hates complicating matters. He is good with mechanics and occasionally performs repairs on Ballistamon. He appears to have developed a crush on Nene Amano of Team Twilight.

Shoutmon

(シャウトモン, Shautomon)

A hardworking, friendly Digimon with a strong desire to help others. He enjoys singing and wields a microphone. His goal is to become Digimon King in order to better protect others. His human partner, Taiki, uses his Xros Loader to combine him with other digimon, in a process known as "DigiXros."

Shoutmon ×2 (シャウトモン×２, Shautomon Kurosu Tsū): The DigiXros of Shoutmon and Ballistamon, forming a strong mechanical robot. Shoutmon ×2 often wields the Star Axe. Starmon ×2 once used ChibiKamemon as underwater armor.

Shoutmon ×3 (シャウトモン×３, Shautomon Kurosu Surī): A powerful, human-shaped warrior that is the DigiXros of Shoutmon, Ballistamon and Dorurumon. When equipped with the Star Sword, this formation becomes Shoutmon ×4 (シャウトモン×４, Shautomon Kurosu Fō).

Ballistamon (バリスタモン, Barisutamon)

A noble, taciturn warrior who resembles a robotic beetle. He forms the arms, lower torso and legs of Shoutmon ×2 and the left shoulder, lower torso, and arms of Shoutmon ×3 and Shoutmon ×4.

Dorulumon (ドルルモン, Dorurumon)

A strong wolf-like Digimon with drills on his body. He is the guardian of Cutemon (キュートモン, Kyūtomon), who travels with him. He first appeared to save Akari and Cutemon from a Coelamon. He forms the lower body and right shoulder of Shoutmon ×3 and Shoutmon ×4.

Starmon (スターモン, Sutāmon)

A small, star-shaped Digimon with sunglasses who forms the hilt of the Star Sword and Star Axe.

Pickmon (ピックモンズ, Pikkumonzu)

A group of small Digimon who accompany the group and come in three varieties: basic, silver, and red. The basic Pickmon DigiXros with Starmon to form the Star Axe. The silver Pickmon DigiXros with Starmon to form the Star Sword. The lone red Pickmon forms a variant of the Star Sword, which is primarily used by Zenjiro.

Jijimon (ジジモン, Jijimon)

A elderly Digimon who serves as a sage-like figure in the Village of Smiles. He accompanies Team Xros Heart and acts as a guide. He is often seen with Lillymon.

Dondokomon (ドンドコモン)

A small Digimon shaped like a

taiko drum with drum sticks

for arms. Several of these live in the Village of Smiles, but one has chosen to travel with Team Xros Heart.

Lilithmon (リリスモン, Ririsumon)

One of the Seven Great Demon Lords and member of the Bagura Empire.

Tactimon (タクティモン, Takutimon)

Member of the Bagura Empire. A tactical genius who is MadLeomon's direct superior.

Blastmon (ブラストモン, Burasutomon)

Member of the Bagura Empire. He resembles a crystal-like brute.

Generals

The strongest warriors who serve the Bagura Empire's leading commanders.

MadLeomon (マッドレオモン, MaddoReomon, 1-3)

A powerful, zombie-esque warrior who is the first of the Bagura Empire Generals to encounter Team Xros Heart. MadLeomon is able to absorb other Digimon to gain new abilities and power. After expanding his body to defeat the Xros Heart team in a final gamble, he was destroyed by Shoutmon x3. His destruction caused Team Xros Heart to gain possession of the Green Zone Code Crown.

Armed MadLeomon (アームドマッドレオモン, Āmudo MaddoReomon): MadLeomon absorbed two foot-soldier Digimon, several spore Digimon, and two Mammothmon to become Armed MadLeomon. In this form, MadLeomon has grown in size, is covered in powerful armor and equipped with a chainsaw and a gigantic gauntlet. Defeated by Shoutmon with the Star Sword.

MadLeomon Orochi Mode (マッドレオモン（オロチモード）, MaddoReomon (Orochi Mōdo)): MadLeomon combined with Orochimon, armed with snake-head tendrils. Defeated by Shoutmon x2.

MadLeomon Final Mode (マッドレオモン（ファイナルモード）, MaddoReomon (Finaru Mōdo)): MadLeomon absorbed three Apemon to gain enhanced speed and strength in this form. Defeated by Shoutmon x2 and Dorulumon.

Neptunemon (Neptunmon, 4)

One of the Olympus Twelve, he leads an underwater army in the Island Zone to find the area's Code Crown.

Bagura Army

The following Digimon are soldiers in the armies of the Bagura Empire:

• Several as-yet-unnamed humanoid fighters with faces resembling gas masks who are armed with rifles. They act as the Bagura Empire's primary foot soldiers.
• Several as-yet-unnamed spore-shaped Digimon.
• Mammothmon (Mammon, 1): A large number of powerful, mammoth Digimon that serve as the main steeds of the Bagura Empire. Some were used by MadLeomon in his first encounter with Team Xros Heart. Two were absorbed by MadLeomon alongside the footsoldier Digimon and the spore-like Digimon to form Armed MadLeomon.
• Pteramon (Pteranomon, 1, 2, 3): A large number of jet/pteranodon-like Digimon that serve as the air force of the Bagura Empire. Some were used by MadLeomon.
• error: {{nihongo}}: Japanese or romaji text required (help): A large number of rhinoceros Digimon in golden armor that serve as one of the steeds of the Bagura Army. Some were present during MadLeomon's first encounter with Team Xros Heart.

• Minotarumon (ミノタルモン, Minotarumon, 1, 2): A minotaur Digimon with a jackhammer for a left forearm that serve as one of the powerhouses of the Bagura Army. Four were shown pushing the cage that contained Orochimon.
• Orochimon (オロチモン, Orochimon, 2): A multi-headed snake Digimon used by MadLeomon. He later absorbs it to become MadLeomon Orochi Mode.
• Apemon (Hanumon, 3): Some Apemon accompanied MadLeomon in his attack on the Village of Smiles. MadLeomon merged with three of them to become MadLeomon Final Mode.
• error: {{nihongo}}: Japanese or romaji text required (help): A drill-nosed mole Digimon used by MadLeomon to dig holes under the Village of Smiles causing bamboo spires to pop out. It was destroyed when Zenjiro threw the Star Sword at the lit area where Drimogemon is.
• error: {{nihongo}}: Japanese or romaji text required (help): A bunch of manta ray-like Digimon that wear vessel-based armor that make up Neptunmon's fleet. These kind are larger than the regular breed of Mantaraymon.
• Divermon (Hangyomon, 4): A large number of diver/fishman-like Digimon that make up Neptunmon's army. One serves as the Commander of the other Divermon.

• error: {{nihongo}}: Japanese or romaji text required (help): An octopus Digimon that wields a sword and an ink gun. It was unleashed by Neptunmon when Team Xros Heart infiltrated one of his Mantaraymon fleet, but was destroyed by Shoutmon x2 (ChibiKame Mode).

Other

Baalmon

An elusive Digmon that is associated with the Bagura Army but is at odds with the Commanders. His nickname is "The Reaper" (死神, Shinigami, lit. "Death Spirit").

Others

• Archelomon: A large turtle-shaped Digimon who is the chief of an island in the Island Zone and is an old friend of Jijimon. He was harassed by several Gizamon until they were driven away by Team Xros Heart. He was later taken captive by Neptunmon's army and interrogated for the info where the Island Zone's Code Crown is.

• ChibiKamemon: A small turtle Digimon who lives in the Island Zone. After some inspiring words from Shoutmon, ChibiKamemon volunteers to help fight Octomon, forming a shell on the back of Shoutmon ×2.

Digimon Xros Wars is currently airing on TV Asahi in Japan. It debuted on July 6, 2010.
