Abbasi has published two books on Bhawaiya music with staff notation of about 1,200 songs.[1] He has published 50 research papers on traditional music and culture.[3][1]

Personal life

Abbasi's brother Mustafa Kamal was the Chief Justice of Bangladesh. His sister Ferdausi Rahman is a playback singer.[4] He is married to Asma Abbasi. Sharmini Abbasi and Samira Abbasi are their daughters.[5]
