Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Fall River Marksmen (currently a redirect to Fall River F.C. (1922–1931)) → Fall River F.C. (currently a redirect instead to Fall River F.C. (1932)) (move · discuss) – There is a previously moved article called Fall River F.C. that has been moved to Fall River F.C. (1932). So the redirect is currently occupied preventing Fall River Marksmen moving there. -- Libro0 (talk) 04:41, 7 March 2023 (UTC)]
- Hi, would you please be able to show evidence that the club from the 1920's should be at the base title, while the one from the 1930's should have a disambiguator? As opposed to, for example, a dabpage at the base title? Dr. Vogel (talk) 08:43, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

- I'm not sure I can provide evidence to that effect. I can provide countless references to what the team's official name is. The other team played a season in 1932 and was significantly less notable. I can provide citations in their respective articles. It would help me to organize these articles which need more attention. The 1920's team was quite notable and had the name much longer. This information is shown in these articles. Titling articles with nicknames should be avoided because I have renamed an article that had a totally erroneous nickname while other teams have had several nicknames over different periods. Contested technical requests
- 44 Minutes → 44 Minutes (song) (move · discuss) – The article seems to have been blanked with no formal deletion process in 2014 after restoration from a deletion in 2009. There are more articles that contain "44 Minutes" in the title, like 44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-Out, another piece of media. BurgeoningContracting (talk) 04:55, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- This one does not appear to be necessary. There is only one other article in WP with "44 Minutes" in the title, and that is the TV film which has the much longer title "44 Minutes: The North Hollywood Shoot-Out". Therefore the Megadeth song is the only article that is literally called "44 Minutes" and there is no need for disambiguation. "See also..." hatnotes at the top of each of the two articles should suffice. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 13:44, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, the film has a longer name, but subtitles are often omitted from topic names (see MOS:SUBTITLE). Without the subtitle, the name is identical. Do we have any evidence that people using "44 Minutes" by itself are primarily looking for the song rather than the film? — BarrelProof (talk) 14:00, 8 March 2023 (UTC)]
- My opinion is that the film's official title is the entire thing with no subtitle involved, which was probably intended to tell audiences that it was about a real-life event that was recently in the news. But I have no dispute with other interpretations. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 14:47, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- With the DVD box just "44 Minutes" and 131 views vs 4 for the song, the song would be such a weak case for WP:PT that restoring (song) is easier to do than go to RM. But if it must go to RM, then support. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:53, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- I have no view either way on this, but given the discussion here it possibly warrants a WP:RM. -Kj cheetham (talk) 19:16, 8 March 2023 (UTC)]

- For what it's worth, I just ran the regex query
intitle:/List of.*channel\)/
, which only returns titles that include "List of" and have "channel)" somewhere after "List of", and the only title the query returned was List of Food Network (Canadian TV channel) personalities ... meaning there seems to be very little precedence for titling articles as proposed by the requester. But, I mean, there is something like it that exists. Steel1943 (talk) 00:30, 8 March 2023 (UTC)- This request is correct per WP:NCTV#List articles since the article is Boomerang (British and Irish TV channel) and not for example Boomerang (TV network). So even if you would like the above style, it would then be List of programs broadcast by Boomerang (British and Irish TV channel) in the UK which I assume no one wants.
