If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

  • To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

    {{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=reason for move}}

    This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
  • If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
  • If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Sources seem mixed on this one, and there's also a case to be made for

  • WP:NPOV, etc.). Povilas Alšėniškis currently is a redirect page, thus this renaming should be performed by an administrator. -- Pofka (talk) 14:32, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply

Paweł Holszański gives 13 resutls in Google Scholar
Povilas Alšėniškis gives only 4 results in Google Scholar
The family was pretty early Ruthenized and adopted Orthodoxy (since Ivan Olshansky, who died in 1402) but later generations adopted Catholicism and Polish language, hence the Polish sounding name is so popular. Pretty standard story for the region. Take a look at the discussion: Talk:Ivan_Olshansky#Requested_move_2_March_2022 Marcelus (talk) 17:36, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
First, there is no active page protection preventing a pagemover from carrying out. Second, it seems that this contested. – robertsky (talk) 18:21, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I see, this is contested by a Polish user who was sanctioned three times already in Polish and Lithuanian topics for causing disruption, most recently a few days ago (see: 1, 2) . The Alšėniškis family was not Ruthenized and they always were Lithuanian nobles. Google Scholar clearly is not a valid source because it provides too few results to identify. The Google search clearly show that Lithuanian language name (Povilas Alšėniškis) of this Lithuanian noble is
WP:COMMONNAME as there are nearly two times more results for Povilas Alšėniškis (19,000) compared to Paweł Holszański (12,200). -- Pofka (talk) 22:08, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply

Robert I. Frost, The Oxford History of Poland-Lithuania, p. 84: Most were Catholics, but Vytautas assigned the greatest prize of Kyiv to his Orthodox brother-in-law Ivan Holshansky, son of one of Algirdas’s followers from the Ruthenianized Alseniskai family of Lithuanian kunigaiksciai. Also actual Google search in English:
Paweł Holszański: 455 results
Povilas Alšėniškis: 104 results
How did you make your
