Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=reason for move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- WP:D inappropriate disambiguator is the alternate name of the topic and not a disambiguator at at all. -- 65.92.244.151 (talk) 23:50, 12 March 2023 (UTC)]
- It looks to me like "KBC Void" is the scientific name as proposed by the original researchers, while "local hole" is a nickname, so that would probably make "KBC Void" the more concise choice for the article title. You're right that the title should not include both terms. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 01:38, 13 March 2023 (UTC)

- Green-thighed parrot (currently a redirect to White-bellied parrot) → White-bellied parrot (move · discuss) – White-bellied is the IOC name of the species; IOC is the Wiki standard for bird taxonomy. White-bellied is currently a redirect to green-thighed and two other taxa that are subspecies of the white-bellied. Opposethe spelling without diacritical mark. I posted on the article's talk page the following: "It's a person's name and per Wikipedia:Diacritical_marks "Whenever the most common spelling in English-language reliable sources is the person's real name, or the name with the diacritical marks simply omitted, the proper name (with the diacritics) is normally used."--The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 19:31, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
For this reason, this should be redirected back to Francisco Ortíz de la Renta. ** Back then the Reliable Source typewriters didn't allow for diacritical marks." Can this be moved / redierected back to how it was correctly spelled before (with Ortíz)?
- Updating my opinion. I think Ortiz without an accent on the "i" is correct after all. --The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 02:06, 13 March 2023 (UTC)
- Support. There are four men listed upon the Francisco Ortíz disambiguation page, three of whom are indicated with unaccented names. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 21:10, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- Comment (requester). I strongly suspect the fourth should be accentless, too: ca:Francisco Ortiz Martín supports that conclusion, as do general spelling rules for the name and the Spanish Swimming Federation. But we're talking about two different pages: the disambig page at Francisco Ortíz and the article at Francisco Ortiz de la Renta (where I already replied to The Eloquent Peasant). - Fishbase) have since also incorporated this change, but have instead kept Ceratodontiformes as the proper name and Dipnoi as a class, subclass, or superorder (will go with class as the ITIS and Fishbase use that). Geekgecko (talk) 02:08, 13 March 2023 (UTC)]
