Etymology

Sucrose does seem like a reasonable origin for the suffix, but as far as I can tell it developed after "glucose" and the "-ose" suffix were already in common use, alongside "fructose" etc. This paper (by a doctor, not an etymologist) gives the origin of "-ase" as "diastase" and "-ose" as "glucose", too. If sucrose is a possibility, should it be listed as an etymology in Wiktionary:-ose as well? --
