Increased expression has also been seen in the lungs of smokers.

I read (skimmed) this paper, and I can't see any evidence that ABHD2 expression was increased, only that its expression level was significantly different in smokers than non-smokers. It could also be downregulated in smokers, which would be in keeping with the findings in mice that ABHD2 deficient mice develop emphysema more quickly. Can anyone clarify this from the paper?
