CorenSearchBot complained about copying http://www.adalog.fr/adacontrol2.html. The reason is they both derive from AdaControl's User's Guide, which is under a free license.

I've tagged the article as a copyvio since I see no evidence to support your statement. If your talking about the user guide at http://www.adalog.fr/compo/adacontrol_ug.html it clearly states "This document is Copyright © 2005-2009 Eurocontrol/Adalog." with nothing about CC license (which is the kind of free license we would need to be able to import the text). See Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. VernoWhitney (talk)
As a follow-up, if you own the copyright to the material (as you asserted on Coren's talk page), then please follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. VernoWhitney (talk) 14:04, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

) 09:13, 2 May 2010 (UTC) Note that the user's guide also states "This document may be copied, in whole or in part, in any form or by any means". Anyway, I have added the standard blob at the bottom of http://www.adalog.fr/adacontrol2.html. Is it OK now?[reply]

Copied does not imply redistributed and modified, which is what is required in order for the content to be added to Wikipedia. Also, the webpage isn't loading for me, so I'm not sure what standard blob you're referring to. VernoWhitney (talk) 12:44, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ooops, sorry, the link is http://www.adalog.fr/adacontrol2.htm. The blob is the one I got from Wikipedia as necessary (and hopefully sufficient) to allow copying.

Thanks for fixing the link, I thought I was going crazy for a while there. The license that you added to that page is perfectly sufficient for the text located on that page. I'm afraid however, that while going back over the page right now I had missed the first time through that part of the text (the part that I've left blanked) is word-for-word for some text on http://www.adalog.fr/compo/adacontrol_ug.html. It's similar to some text on the http://www.adalog.fr/adacontrol2.htm page which is why I didn't continue searching originally. If it would be possible for you to either (1) license the user guide page or (2) include that text on the page which you've already licensed appropriately; then the copyright issues will be all cleared up. Thanks for working with me! VernoWhitney (talk) 15:42, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

talk) 12:01, 10 May 2010 (UTC) Well, I am the author of all that stuff, there is therefore indeed lots of copy/paste between the various documents. And although all documents are freely available, I didn't want to fiddle with all these licensing issues, therefore I rephrased the incriminated paragraphs in a way that I hope is different enough to not raise concerns. (NB: I understand your being careful about all licensing issues; but when you are the original author and want to make your stuff available, it is frustrating to see how difficult it can be...)[reply
