I think the line that refers to the animal's sense of smell as "barely adequate for its survival" is terribly funny. It's not very encyclopedic though. Very funny still. --74.243.165.147 07:39, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
"The pygmy shrew is a fascinating creature..."
I've removed the sentence about the shrew's "barely adequate sense of smell." It was first added in December 2005 as a word-for-word reference to this Flash cartoon, and unless someone's willing to prove otherwise, it should stay out. Yeah, I found the cartoon amusing too, but sadly, I think the fact that this went uncorrected for such a long time says something about the reliability of Wikipedia.
