Requested move 13 August 2022

The result of the move request was: not moved. Apparently nobody agrees with the nominator's definition of alphabet vs. script. (closed by non-admin page mover)Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 19:46, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bengali alphabetBengali script – Abugida not an alphabet. AleksiB 1945 (talk) 14:12, 13 August 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 18:33, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. This article is about the form of the Bengali–Assamese script used to write the Bengali language. The proposed title does not currently redirect here. I am not comfortable with the distinction we are making between 'alphabet' and 'script' in this case, but it needs a wider discussion. Srnec (talk) 16:10, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Abugidas are alphabets. This convention, of 'script' for the writing system and 'alphabet' for the adaption of a script to a particular language, has been WP consensus for a decade or more. Since this article is about the use of the Bengali script specifically for the Bengali language, 'alphabet' is correct. If you want to change that consensus, per WP:CONSISTENCY we need a centralized discussion, rather than just picking at the edges with separate RMCs. — kwami (talk) 10:04, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (writing systems). Chaipau (talk) 23:09, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Punctuation mark ⁕

[Moved question from article text after discussion at user talk page]

⁕, used for? Is it a "section mark" as stated at star (glyph)
, and if so, what does that mean? --Moved and refactored by Worldbruce (talk) 14:42, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
