This is not in filmography. He was in the 2010 new artist special with

On October 31, 2016, Big Sean released "Bounce Back" as the lead single from his upcoming fourth studio album, I Decided, which is due to be released February 3, 2017. "Moves" was released as an instant-grat on December 16, 2016. Sean has consulted the advice of Jay Z and Rick Rubin while working on the album.

I believe this should be changed, as Big Sean's new album was released today and isn't still due to be released. [1] Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). Basedconmd (talk) 00:51, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Big Sean New EP - 'What You Expect'

After the last sentence in the music career section, which references Kanye's interview, I'd suggest the following addition: "In a subsequent interview on the same podcast, Sean elaborated that he left West's G.O.O.D. Music label because he was owed 6 million dollars in unpaid royalties, which he realized after auditing their parent company, Universal Music Group, as he didn't even suspect West would withhold money from him. This shed further light on Kanye's comments and the differences between the two." [source] At80123 (talk) 21:33, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request

Hello Wikipedia,

I work with Big Sean and I put a declaration on my talk page. I wanted to make a few edits but I have a conflict of interest so I can’t make those edits myself. Please let me know if I’m doing this correctly, either here or on my talk page.

Tagging some people who have a bunch of edits to Big Sean, like MrloniBook, Inspectormusic, FeldBum, TheBY, ChristianCanada and Rlink2.

In the Info Box, can you add these things?

1. Don Life should be included under Labels 2. There should be associated acts here, like Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Hit-Boy, Jeremih, Jhené Aiko, Kanye West, Key Wane, Metro Boomin, Mike Posner and Wiz Khalifa

In the intro paragraph, can we change “rapper” to “rapper, songwriter and entrepreneur,” as the rest of the page shows he is those things?

In the 2011-2012 section, can we add this line? “In July 2011, Big Sean contributed two rap verses to Kelly Rowland’s single Lay It on Me, from her Here I Am album. Big Sean collaborated with Hit-Boy in writing and producing the song.” Citation = https://hypebeast.com/2022/1/big-sean-hit-boy-what-you-expect-interview

In the 2019–present section: 1. Can we add “Starting in 2020, Big Sean has appeared in the Showtime series Twenties in a recurring role as Trsitan, an anti-social media character who learns the value of online connection.” Citation = https://tvline.com/2021/12/15/big-sean-interview-twenties-tristan-acting-bet-lena-waithe/

2. Can we remove “West also claimed during a November 2021 Drink Champs podcast that signing Sean was the 'worst decision' of his entire career.”? It’s wrong and also has no citation.

Under the Career, can we add a subsection called “TV and Film”? It would say this: “In 2017, Big Sean voiced the character of Terrence for an episode of HBO’s animated series Animals. In 2019, Big Sean starred in the animated movie Trouble (also known as Dog Gone Trouble), alongside Pamela Adlon and Lucy Hale. The movie was directed by Kevin Johnson. Starting in 2020, Big Sean has appeared in the Showtime series Twenties in a recurring role as Tristan, an anti-social media character who learns the value of online connection.” We can use TV Line as a citation.

Can we add another subsection called “Sean Anderson Foundation”? It would have this text and I included citations after each line in parentheses: In May 2012, Big Sean founded a nonprofit organization called the “Sean Anderson Foundation,” with the aim of helping underserved children and families in his native Detroit. Alongside direct donations to local institutions, primarily educational institutions, the foundation has created fundraising programs and partnered with other organizations. In 2016, the foundation launched #HealFlintKids to raise money for the Community Foundation of Greater Flint amid the Flint water crisis. The program raised $100,000. In 2015, the foundation launched Mogul Prep, which partnered high school students with music industry professionals. In 2015, the foundation donated a recording studio for students at Big Sean’s alma mater, Cass Technical High School.(https://www.revolt.tv/article/2021-08-21/46532/big-sean-will-unveil-a-new-studio-in-detroit-during-d-o-n-weekend/) Beginning in 2018, the foundation hosts an annual weekend festival, called D.O.N. Weekend, with free events and performances for Detroit residents and usually by Detroit artists.(https://michiganchronicle.com/2021/08/30/big-sean-takes-over-detroit-with-annual-d-o-n-weekend/) The name stands for Detroit’s On Now. In 2021, the weekend included In December 2018, Big Sean in partnership with Ally Financial, Thurgood Marshall College Fund & the Sean Anderson Foundation, created an annual scholarship competition for HBCU students called “Moguls in the Making.”(https://www.blackscholarships.org/2018/12/big-sean-moguls-in-making-hbcu-competition-entrepreneurs.html) Applicants compete in a 2 and ½ day business competition to win said scholarships. In 2019, the foundation partnered with Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan, donating a second $100,000 recording studio to the club during that year’s D.O.N. Weekend. (https://www.revolt.tv/article/2021-08-21/46532/big-sean-will-unveil-a-new-studio-in-detroit-during-d-o-n-weekend/ and https://www.essence.com/celebrity/big-sean-donates-recording-studio-detroit-boys-girls-club/) Since 2012, the foundation has participated in the annual All Star Giveback on Thanksgiving, where it distributes turkeys, trimming and canned goods to Detroit residents. (https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/big-sean-is-giving-away-turkeys-and-canned-goods-to-detroit-residents-news.96545.html)

Can we add one more subsection, called “Other Ventures”? It would have this text, with citations in parentheses again. In 2018, Big Sean launched a shoe collection with PUMA, called Puma x Big Sean. (https://footwearnews.com/2018/influencers/sneakers/puma-big-sean-sneakers-drop-1202544597/) The collection included a relaunch of the classic PUMA Suede, released on the shoe’s 50th anniversary. (https://sneakernews.com/2018/03/07/big-sean-puma-footwear-collection-release-info-2/ and https://www.highsnobiety.com/p/big-sean-puma-fw18/) In December 2020, Big Sean joined the NBA’s Detroit Pistons as creative director of innovation.(https://www.nba.com/pistons/news/big-sean-joins-detroit-pistons-creative-director-innovation) In that role, he leads the design of team apparel , with practice jerseys bearing his “Don Life” logo, and other non-game, community-driven initiatives.(https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nba/pistons/2020/12/23/pistons-name-detroit-rapper-big-sean-creative-director-innovation/4026277001/) In that same month, Big Sean joined McDonald’s “Black & Positively Golden” mentorship program. The program offers scholarships for HBCU students.(https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbestheculture/2020/12/16/big-sean-on-mentorship-in-the-music-industry/?sh=7b07c6a51c26)

In the “Personal life” section, can we add this? Citations are in parentheses again. Big Sean has explained that he has struggled with depression, canceling a tour in 2018.(https://www.culturedmag.com/article/2020/12/18/big-sean) He credits therapy, a healthy lifestyle, exercise and taking a break from touring to refocus on his music as instrumental in his recovery. (https://www.menshealth.com/fitness/a31674102/big-sean-workout/) In May 2021, Big Sean, via his Sean Anderson foundation, released a video series on wellness and mental health. (https://www.essence.com/lifestyle/big-sean-mental-health/) The series was released during Mental Health Awareness Month and featured conversation between Big Sean and his mother, educator Myra Anderson, about the intersection between wellness and mental health, including topics like meditation, sleep and the emotional freedom technique (EFT). (https://www.complex.com/music/big-sean-mom-myra-anderson-launch-wellness-video-series-mental-health-awareness-month)(https://www.blackenterprise.com/big-sean-and-his-mother-release-mental-health-digital-series/) Finally, can you update some of the bullet points or tables on the page? 1. Can you add “What You Expect (with Hit-Boy) (2021)” to “Collaborative albums”? 2. Can you add “2017 / Animals / Terrence / Voice” to “Filmography”? Thank you so much for helping with these. If I need to do anything differently, let me know. SarahRountree (talk) 00:22, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@SarahRountree
This looks good, only thing is that next time learn to use the line break html tag (I think it is < br/>) so its easier to read.
Don Life should be included under Labels
Is there a source for this somewhere? I didn't see it anywhere in the article.
There should be associated acts here
Where exactly? And is there any other Wikipedia article about a muscian that also has it in the same place?
Other than those main points, I completed your edit request. I chagned up some things and removed some others to make it more suitable for an Wikipedia article and meet Wikipedia standards. Let me know if you have any further questions. Rlink2 (talk) 09:54, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @SarahRountree and @Rlink2, I see a few sources for Don Life, so I'll add that in.
I don't associated acts used that much right now, so let me see if anyone lists Big Sean and then I'll list them reciprocally.
@SarahRountree mind if I clean up your request a bit with some link breaks? It's a bit hard to read?
--FeldBum (talk) 13:53, 19 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
