vandalism on nfl statistics section

there's a bunch of minor vandalism on Purdy's NFL stats section. I reverted some of it but I'm sure there's some that I missed. If anyone else could give it a look that'd be great. Likely 49ers fans changing his statistics as a joke. Jayity (talk) 15:58, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Need updated photo

As an unexpected star in the NFL, Purdy is currently the subject of considerable media attention, yet his photo is from his college days in Iowa. I’ve just checked Wikimedia Commons but unfortunately there is no updated photo of Purdy as a 49er currently available. Let’s fix that as possible, thanks. Jusdafax (talk) 04:49, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I realize the problem. The only issue is there are no other creative images of him on the internet. Perhaps someone can go to one of his games and take a photo of him :) AsaQuathern (talk) 00:52, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
… still need a photo in 49er gear. Jusdafax (talk) 11:07, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I actually think the Iowa State picture suits who he is better. This is still the way I perceive him (Midwest football fan). He was drafted last, famously Mr Irrelevant. As long as he is perceived as a system quarterback for the 49ers his image should remain Iowa State. Nevilleaga (talk) 14:19, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Records

Would it be ok to add a regular records page? Examples would include stats like him having the most touchdowns by a rookie quarterback in a playoff game, being the lowest-drafted quarterback to start and win a playoff game (both NFL rec.), and being the first 49ers rookie quarterback to start and win a playoff game. (franchise). All these are mentioned on actual article. I would also like to know if a records page is too premature at the moment and if there are any rules for a records page? Remove unnecessary period before the word “as” under “College Career” “2018” section:

“Purdy entered his freshman year at Iowa State University in 2018. as the third string to Kyle Kempt and Zeb Noland.“ 66.44.244.32 (talk) 11:52, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Records section

As there is now a records section up, would it be appropriate to add an NCAA section for his honors as 2x First-team All Big-12 player and 1x Second-team All Big-12 player?

Also wanted to know if it would be technically accurate to represent his honor of being on the PFWA All-Rookie Team in the Awards section? (Or if it would even be accurate to have a records section? I had noticed he had set a fair deal of records and added them with it being automatically accepted) Techie234 (talk) 23:27, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the NCAA honors should be in there, or at least they shouldn't get their own sub-section. It's not like he's in any danger of getting more NCAA awards, so it wouldn't ever get past those two lines, and they're already in the infobox and mentioned in the "College career" section.
I think the section's alright in general, though. Maybe on the small side of reasonable and maybe a little crufty with stuff like the "first six career starts" lines, but I don't think that's enough to pull it (and hey, maybe he'll pick up some more soon). Would also like to see every line item cited but that shouldn't be hard to manage — I might take a stab at it myself later. Adding the PFWA All-Rookie Team sounds fine as well. Change NFL RECORD section. Beating Tom Brady in his first career start isn't a NFL record/stat. It is ridiculous to write that. Josmith84 (talk) 00:01, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have taken it off. Certainly it doesn't make sense when you consider a general fact that records are made to be broken, and it would be impossible to break a record against a permanently retired player. Techie234 (talk) 14:23, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Mr. Irrelevant in the Career Highlights"

i just want to say that every single other Mr. Irrelevant has that listed in his career highlights. Why should brock Purdy be the exception just because he's successful? 2600:1700:580:AF0:BD96:301:7164:A8CC (talk) 20:46, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Being drafted with the last overall pick is not a career highlight or award, like how being drafted number 1 overall is not listed there as a career highlight or award. Additionally, not every single other Mr. Irrelevant has it listed in their infoboxes, it is inconsistent wether they do or not. I've removed them because they are not career highlights or awards. "Mr. Relevant" in Header

I'm going to open up a talk page about this.

I'm a little confused about why this can't be in the heading. The reason I have seen is that it needs a reliable source, but it's mentioned that he has been called that twice in the body of the article with sources showing it and there are several pictures out there of people having jersey's calling him such. Actually, if you type "Mr. Relevant" into Google, it shows an image of Brock Purdy.

So I guess I'm just wondering why it can't be in the heading. I'm not saying it has to be bolded/an article titled, but just mentioned to bring more attention to it. Jamisonsupame (talk) 14:48, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
