State owned, size of stake

There is conflicting information in the article as to whether the Chinese state owns part of Hikvision, or if it used to owned part of the company. If the Chinese state owns part of the company it would be good to include the percentage if that information is available.Jonpatterns (talk) 08:09, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It just removed by some new Wikipedian or someone associated with Hikvision. Moreover it is a bit odd to state the government own how much stake. Seem it is more appropriate to state the stake held by the mega state-owned conglomerate. Matthew_hk tc 09:05, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding information about any and all owners improves the article, including government, mega state-owned conglomerates and others.Jonpatterns (talk) 12:41, 17 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Needed updates

Hi, Jason from Hikvision here.

I’d like to address some updates needed for this article and get some advice on how to help make that happen.

• First and foremost, our 2017 Annual Report (2016 results) with updated financials can be found here: http://www.cninfo.com.cn/finalpage/2017-04-22/1203358317.PDF and here http://www.securitysales.com/news/hikvision_posts_revenue_growth_for_2016/

IHS Markit, a global research organization, annually estimates video surveillance market share. More info here www.technology.ihs.com/582394/video-surveillance-market-share-database-2017 (subscribers only)

• The “Activities” section includes some Hikvision product categories, but there are more – UAVs, robotics, AI and Deep Learning applications, networked and cloud storage products and services, automobile electronics, manufacturing equipment, intelligence solutions, access control and alarm products, and others. Below are some news stories about Hikvision’s product lines:

- Hikvision highlights deeper video camera intelligence, drones, security industry opportunities, new product innovation, and overall technology expansion – from Security Sales & Integration, Nov. 2016 http://www.securitysales.com/news/hikvision_highlights_deeper_video_camera_intelligence_drones_more/#

- Hikvision plans to establish an R&D center in Montreal, Canada– from SP&T Magazine, March 2017 https://www.sptnews.ca/qa/qa-with-jeffrey-he-president-hikvision-usa-and-hikvision-canada

• The article now states that Hikvision “overtook” Dahua in market share, however, data shows that we have always been ahead of Dahua Technologies in terms of market share. Here is a Security System News July 2017 story about market share www.securitysystemsnews.com/article/hikvision-stays-top-2016-global-market-share

Dead Links

Hi, my name is Mike with Hikvision. I noticed that citation #27 on our page – “Jeffrey He, president of Hikvision North America, had criticized the online blogger site for allegedly seeking financial gain” – and citations #11 and #12 – “Hikvision has been listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 2010. The company provides surveillance products to the global market via more than 2,400 partners in 155 countries and regions and has its presence in 18 locations around the world” – are dead links. Due to my conflict of interest, can other users help review and remove these passages from the page? Thank you!

I repaired the securitysales link and deleted the other two.
