Hello! I removed something from the Personality section and wanted to expand on it. This site had some incorrect info and has been reused around the internet, something I wanted to remedy with the correct info because this is a great character that deserves it!

The information removed was the statement that Zenigata has a grandson at Todai University.

This was removed for several reasons: (1) As you can see in the image provided, nowhere does it say that this is the grandson of Lupin III's nemesis Zenigata. It states that he is from the Heiji Zenigata line, stretching all the way back to the Edo period and a "grandson of a gumshoe" (meaning all of his ancestors were detectives). This one-off story also features Fujiko as Heitaro's girlfriend. If we assumed that Heitaro and Koichi were NOT the same person and that Koichi was the grandparent, that would put our traditional Zenigata at approximatly 70 years old (assuming he was 20 when he had a child, and that child was 20, and now the grandson is 20, then add another 10 years post college). The Lupin III manga is a heavy example of multiple choice backgrounds.

The story that references Heitaro Zenigata is from a one-off manga story. The Lupin manga features so many one-off and negative continuity stories that if one story is to be taken as canon, then the all should as well, which would include (volume 2) Jigen and Lupin being childhood friends, Jigen having a sister, (volume 2) Fujiko being the daughter of a man that Lupin killed called Doctor (who looks remarkably like Zenigata), (volume 3) Fujiko having a brother who was a doctor (this arc was very similar to Sweet Lost Night), (volume 3) Fujiko being a mass murderer who killed 999 men after having sex with them, (volume 3) Fujiko being the same age as Lupin II and somewhat mentoring Lupin III (at the behest of Lupin II). This could go on and on.

Additionally, I've yet to see a source that states our traditional Zenigata's first name is Koichi (if you have a source, please post it, because I'm genuinely curious as to the origins of "Koichi"). For all we know, his first name could be Heitaro. Or, if both are attributed to Zenigata, this could simply be another negative continuity issue or mistake.

Additionally, the English translated manga calls the college "Tozai," not "Todai," likely just a simply lettering change to ensure it seemed like a real place without naming the real place.

In any case, as the article refers mostly to the anime Zenigata, I would suggest a separate heading for information on the manga Zenigata (this would probably be good for all the main characters, as they all vary drastically from the anime.

Hi. Thanks for your effort. It should be noted that all of the Lupin character articles need substantial rewrites for various reasons. This is something I intended to work on at some point, time and sources permitting. You have highlighted several issues like the continuity that are recognised problems that make character articles hard to write reliably. Most of these aren't discussed in reliable sources at all, largely because they tend to talk about the manga only in passing. The english manga has many issues with name spellings, Fugiko and Gigen in the first volume several times for example, but not having the japanese manga available doesn't help with checking this. Unfortunately a lot of what you have added may need to be removed, or at the very least sourced. As for naming, I don't know where Koichi comes from, he is always written as Zenigata Keibu (with Keibu being Inspector) and usually uses this to identify himself.Dandy Sephy (talk) 18:31, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for replying (and so politely, too! I thought there would be an argument about this). I'm able to provide references on everything I wrote, however I'm new to editing and not sure how to do that. Once I figure it out over the next few days, I can update. I was wondering how many sources are appropriate? Some cases have multiple references. And if everything goes smoothly I will be happy to possibly add a manga section or work on other characters.
