Requested Move

The result of the move request was: not moved. Consensus that the disambiguation is currently unnecessary, as the other populated places named "Macedonia, Georgia" do not have Wikipedia articles. (Consequently, if Macedonia, Miller County, Georgia or Macedonia, Towns County, Georgia ever become the subject of an article, this question will likely need to be revisited.) Another proposed title – Macedonia, Georgia (United States) – also received little traction. (non-admin closure) ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 14:44, 23 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Towns County, not Town county 2600:1700:6180:6290:24FD:8ADE:56DE:6D19 (talk) 18:53, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Macedonia, Georgia (United States). A search for "Macedonia, Georgia" primarily brings up football scores between the country of Georgia and the country of Macedonia. PrisonerB (talk) 15:15, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I might have agreed with you if there was an actual existing Wikipedia article on the Georgia–Macedonia football sports rivalry, similar to the other articles in Category:International association football rivalries. But as it is, this would be unnecessary disambiguation. We do not disambiguate for every single subject that we do not have an article for yet. Zzyzx11 (talk) 02:47, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Web searches ignore punctuation, so they don't notice a difference between a dash, hyphen or comma. A comma and space like this would not be used for football contests. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:35, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as unnecessary disambiguation until at least another "Macedonia, Georgia" article is created. Until then, hatnotes would be sufficient. Zzyzx11 (talk) 02:40, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment at any rate " Georgia (U.S. state) " needs to be used, for all U.S. Georgia topics -- 64.229.88.43 (talk) 00:04, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support The name should be needed, NOW! --2600:1700:6180:6290:9DF4:436E:5E7F:66B (talk) 02:15, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
