Recent changes and vandalism

I have reverted recent acts of vandalism conducted by Ayusin. The acts comprise unexplained edits involving deletions of lists that have been long undisturbed and maintained by community consensus. The edits cannot be said to have been made in good faith due to the lack of explanation and the arbitrary conduct prevailing in the edits. Further, there have been edits made by the said user involving the use of names that do not reflect the colloquial references to individuals. While these may spell out the complete name, community consensus has long held the appropriateness of using the names by which popular individuals are named when placing them in lists, with the proper or given names elucidated in the individual person's article, if any, instead. – Each of these articles involve multiple actual championships, so it has to be plural. Now since each doesn't refer to an individual championship, it is a common name. I am soliciting suggestions on where "(Philippines)" appears, if applicable; is it at the end, or after "NCAA"? I do disagree, but a quick look showed me NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships – Men's 100 meter dash which is similar and uses the plural. I may be out of step with common Wikipedia practice. Quale (talk) 22:27, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The NCAA in the US and the NCAA in the Philippines are different organizations, and are organized differently. For sports with specific events or disciplines (such as swimming, taekwondo and track), individual event champions are indeed lost to history; what

Regarding the placing of "Philippines". I would argue that we could have it as "NCAA Philippines X championships" instead as per

Good question. The US NCAA has articles for each different championship and tournament; in the Philippines, all championships in one sport (or discipline, for example, 3×3 basketball and beach volleyball are treated differently) is under one article. It's akin in having the US NCAA's 3 divisional basketball championships under one article. In the US articles, it makes sense for it to be in singular and as a proper noun; in the Philippines articles, it makes sense for it to be as a common noun and in plural.
Also, it makes sense for the Philippine NCAA and the UAAP articles to be named exactly alike (save for the dab).
So this is a question of how the articles are organized. The US treata every championship separately, in the Philippines, all championships under one sport are under one article. Howard the Duck (talk) 11:24, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
