Assistance in correcting out-of-date information

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

Thanks for your help. ShareRoot rebranded as Opyl in 2020 and as such this article is substantially out of date as "ShareRoot" no longer exists as an entity and the current company is Opyl. Opyl is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) as OPL. Additionally, the business model of the company differs substantially from the content currently in the article. I propose that the page's slug be changed from ShareRoot to Opyl Ltd (with ShareRoot automatically forwarding to the Opyl Ltd article slug) and the existing content on the page moved to a "As ShareRoot" section with the exception of the first sentence which (when updated) can form the introduction of the article, like so:

Opyl Ltd (ASX: OPL) is a Melbourne, Victoria-based company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange that provides a software as a service (SaaS) platform leveraging artificial intelligence to understand and improve healthcare design, development, and delivery.

As ShareRoot

Founded in 2013 in California by Noah Abelson-Gertler and Marc Angelone as ShareRoot, ShareRoot's initial digital mar tech platforms provided the ability to search for and source User-Generated Content (UGC) from Instagram and Twitter by requesting and obtaining a license and release from the content's owner. ShareRoot acquired The Social Science, an Australian STEMM specialist digital marketing agency in April 2018. Co-founded by Michelle Gallaher, Michelle joined the ShareRoot team after the acquisition. In March 2019, Michelle became CEO of ShareRoot recalibrating the strategy to focus predominantly in building digital and AI-enabled tools for the global healthcare sector. Before going public in 2016, ShareRoot had previously participated in 500 Startups batch 8 and raised a round of angel investing.

ShareRoot was rebranded to Opyl Ltd (ASX: OPL) in 2020 to work on technology to support the health and life sciences sector.

Citations can be found on the Opyl Ltd and ASX website including notices of the rebrand.

Additionally, the information in the sidebar slug needs to be updated (the Opyl logo can be found on the website at http://opyl.ai ) with Noah Abelson-Gertler and Marc Angelone moved into the proposed "As ShareRoot" section and the industry changed to (Artificial intelligence and social media services) and the headquarters changed to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia as the original founders are no longer affiliated with the company and have moved on.

  • Why it should be changed:

As mentioned above, the current article contains significantly out of date information about an entity that no longer exists and has been rebranded as a new organisation — rather than losing information about Opyl's history, I propose simply moving most of the existing article into its own section and updating the rest to reflect current details about the company as it exists today.

Unfortunately, the inaccurate information continues to be pulled by sources such as Google and this has been flagged in an information audit about the company. Assistance in getting this updated and corrected is highly appreciated.

I am not sure about the first 2 ones, but the last is a primary (made by the company itself), and, as such, unreliable source. Handmeanotherbagofthemchips (talk) 15:12, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Primary sources aren't always unreliable, we just have to be careful about using them for potentially biased information. For something as straightforward and neutral as "the company changed its name", they're fine. mi1yT·C 10:12, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Someone appears to have done this at some point, at least in spirit. I'm closing it as  Done . mi1yT·C 10:07, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
