OLA relation with OLF in 2010s, 2020s

Oromo Liberation Army links to this article, but there is very little information on the relation between the OLA and the OLF during the 2010s and the 2020s. This would be very useful content for people interested in the topic. Are they tightly aligned? or fully separate groups? what do the sources say? Boud (talk) 22:16, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Relations between the two groups soured significantly between 2018 and 2021 after the split. The OLF leaders attempted to retain clandestine control over the OLA but the OLA leaders resisted. This culminated in the 2021 OLA General Assembly in which it reformed its leadership and reaffirmed its complete independence (https://olacommunique.com/2021/08/09/announcement-from-the-olf-ola-general-assembly/). There is much anger from the OLF to this turn of events and it has began purging suspected OLA sympathizers from its ranks. MarsaUnit (talk) 22:36, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
