I don't have time to do it right now (and frankly, I'm annoyed that some things I've written have been removed for not citing enough sources; my PhD committee expected less than random commentators on wikipedia), but I really think the U.S. sections should be expanded. Beginning with political cartoons in the U.S. and then political satire in theatre during the Depression, this article really needs more. (And I'd give a shout-out to Tom Lehrer as well!).
