Hey fellow 'Saw: The Ride' enthusiasts-to-be. I'm looking at citing sources for this article, does anyone know if the thorpe park website would be a suitable source? Or would I need other sources? (newspaper articles, for example) Felixshelton (talk) 21:10, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To answer your question, by usual Wikipedia guidelines the main website isn't a source. This falls under notability as it usually has to be covered by other media outlets which we usually then use as sources. If you understand. --

I did quick research on this and it looks like there are no other RS to back up the statement that Wardley is the designer for Saw - The Ride. Other secondary sources that can support this claim is Coasterpedia, although that is not an RS due to the fact it is user-generated. Another one I found is someone's SPS Google site. This source (reliability may be disputed) says that ...designer John Wardley is involved in [the] development. but does not specifically say that he actually designed it. My thoughts so far is that he should not be included due to the fact that sources do not mention him as a designer. Thanks for weighing in. My findings over the years have been similar. It is clear that Wardley helmed a lot of projects for Alton Towers, playing a significant role in park development. He deserves to be recognized for that, which we can do in prose within the article body at each ride, but I agree the title of designer in the infobox is not a good fit in the absence of support from secondary sources. --GoneIn60 (talk) 00:15, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
