Article title

Why is the article titled "Shin Kamen Rider (film)" instead of simply Shin Kamen Rider? I suggest this article should be renamed to the latter title because the

WP:DISAMBIG. We could delete the disambiguation page and just use {{For}} on this and the Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue articles. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 10:20, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply

Do not move. The 1992 film has different title (Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue instead of just Shin Kamen Rider), but its titular character is probably notable enough to get his own page. Дейноніх (talk) 12:37, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Subtitles/title suffixes are often omitted when people refer to a work (e.g. see
WP:SUBTITLES). If I understand correctly, for more than twenty thirty years, the "Prologue" film has been the only Shin Kamen Rider film. The fact that this is not an English-language work and that few sources in English appear to discuss it indicates that there is likely even less of a single clear accepted way to refer to that film. For more than 15 years, Shin Kamen Rider has been redirected to the 1992 film. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:38, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply

There are various title variations, of course, but Shin Kamen Rider: Prologue is the one that is mostly used since it's the direct translation. It's obvious that Shin Kamen Rider was a redirect: either because of the titular character, or because it is shortened title while no other movie with «Shin Kamen Rider» in the title didn't exist. Now that we have actual Shin Kamen Rider, there's no reason for it to be a redirect. By that logic, every Kamen Rider series should use «Series title (TV series)» formula, because there are movies with the same characters where subtitle in the name can be dropped. Shin Kamen Rider reached 2 Billion Yen

It seems that Shin Kamen Rider has made their goal by reaching 2 billion yen on the Japanese Box Office last Sunday according to ANN.

Shin Masked Rider

As mentioned, Amazon Prime Video lists the film as "Shin Masked Rider". Is there a source if this is the official English title? Alaney2k (talk) 15:58, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Its been called Shin Masked Rider by official Japanese sources for a while (including here and here) but English sources have mostly called it Shin Kamen Rider. I think it needs further discussion or even a move request because Shin Masked Rider is now also its Prime title. Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 21:54, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
