  1. Is his actual name Dr. Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji? Should we use the 'Sree Sree' and 'Swamiji' honorifics thoroughout the article?
  2. There are numerous statements thrgouhout the document which are either peacock terms or tall claims which require citations. E.g:
  • 'The driving forces of Sree Swamiji's more than seven decades of service to humanity are hardwork, disciplined life, faith in Humanity and sincerity of purpose to help the poor and the downtrodden.'
  • 'He is committed to the service of humanity with eighteen hour daily work schedule, even at the age of 100.'
  • 'ree Swamiji's Guru Kula houses more than 8500 children of age group 5 to 16 years and is open to children from all religions, castes and creeds, who get free food, education and shelter and the moral blessings of the Sree Swamiji.' - citation needed for the secular nature of his work.

Ok, thanks for pointing these out. Will see if I can get citations for these.
Regarding the name, yes, for all practical purposes that is his name and that is how all the media components (News papers, TV, Radio) refer to him. We hardly see anywhere the name as just "Dr.Shivakumara" as mentioned in an earlier version of the article. Hope this helps. - KNM Talk 00:35, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello The Rambling Man, thanks for your feedback about the referencing in the article. I have done major work in improving the references since you voted. Please reconsider the !vote at Wikipedia:In_the_news/Candidates#RD:_Shivakumara_Swami. Hi IP 117.198.113.27, I have Undid revision 879481834 by 117.198.113.27 (talk), because Subject getting garland from Prime Minister of India is a more strong picture for the awards section, face is hardly visible in both the pics. Lets discuss, here on the talk page if you still disagree. --DBigXray 15:14, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Fair point. Just that in the other picture, his face is recognizable. Anyway I don't have an issue with either of the pics. Cheers. 117.198.113.27 (talk) 15:19, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but we already have a picture in the infobox that shows his face. Thanks for agreeing to my point. cheers. --DBigXray 15:22, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Social Work section

Hi, could you expand the "Social work" section? I feel the current text does not do his work justice. 117.198.113.27 (talk) 15:30, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, you can do this as well as per
Main page so we have to be careful about not adding unsourced information. cheers.--DBigXray 15:37, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply

Year of Birth

Hi User:Editor5454 thanks for your contributions. Almost all the sources mention him as 111 years old. What does his biography or Mutt website mention his year of birth as ? --DBigXray 19:37, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see that USer:JFG has now reverted and restored 1907 as the year of birth, stating "Unclear: many sources give his birth date as 1 April 1907 (for example https://indianexpress.com/article/who-is/shivakumara-swami-lingayat-siddhaganga-mutt-tumakuru-5548096/), and even sources that list 1908 state that he was 111 years old". IMHO I agree with the edit and reasoning by JFG. --DBigXray 21:12, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. We also have older sources documenting his 100th birthday celebration in 2007. There must have been some confusion at some news rooms in the rush to publish upon his death. — JFG talk 21:33, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, 100th birthday in 2007 is another strong reason to support the year of birth as 1907. So lets use this discussion as consensus to keep year of birth as 1907. --DBigXray 21:38, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why was my category removed?

I added the category "Indian humanitarians" to this article a little bit ago. Now I see it has been removed. Why? Maximajorian Viridio (talk) 19:43, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Done Hello Maximajorian Viridio, Thanks a lot for your contribution of adding [1] category. It was me who had mistakenly removed your category while doing a revert [2] to an earlier last clean version that was free from disruptive edits from IP and new users. I failed to notice your constructive edit at the bottom and I apologize for this mistake. I have already restored the said category to the article with this edit. Hope it is fine with you. Please let me know if there is anything else that you would like to be changed. regards. --DBigXray 19:54, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay. Thank you. Maximajorian Viridio (talk) 21:47, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
