Renaming of article

"USA Funds" is now Strada. This article should be renamed "Strada" and "USA Funds" should be a redirect to that (this) article. 2600:1004:B148:85B:9DEF:DE97:FB27:5C77 (talk) 02:01, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 4 September 2021

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: procedural closure. Given the lack of consensus and the move of this article to project-space was clearly in error I have moved the article to article-space under the title

Strada Education Network. This move should be considered a technical or undiscussed move. (closed by non-admin page mover) Jack Frost (talk) 23:43, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply

Conflict of Interest edit request

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

Strada Education Network, also known as Strada, is a nonprofit organization that advocates for better connections between education and work. [1]

Strada approaches its work through research into what American adults value about postsecondary education [2], investments in companies working to better connect education and training with employment, and philanthropic grants to organizations and institutions that are improving pathways between education and work. In 2022, Strada Education Network awarded grants to 15 colleges and universities to expand career services, incorporate career prep into courses, and improve job outcomes for populations historically underserved by higher education.[3] Strada’s largest grant initiative was $25 million to historically Black colleges and universities for scholarships, leadership development programming, and professional networking and internship support.[4]

Strada’s national headquarters is in Indianapolis, and it also has an office in Washington, D.C.

Strada Education Network traces its history to 1960, when United Student Aid Funds was founded. United Student Aid Funds grew to be among the largest guarantors of federal student loans under the Federal Family Education Loan Program.[5] In 2017, the guaranteed student loan portfolios of subsidiaries United Student Aid Funds Inc. and Northwest Education Loan Association were transitioned to Great Lakes Higher Education Corp.[6] USA Funds, Inc., the former parent company of United Student Aid Funds Inc., then became Strada Education Network.[7]

Among the first recipients of a grant from Strada was the Jackie Robinson Foundation, which provides scholarship support and preparation for success after college. Strada awarded $6.5 million to the foundation.[8] Since then Strada philanthropic giving has included $10 million in education and training that prepares graduates of four-year universities for success after college [9]; $25 million in leadership development training and career preparation for select students at historically Black colleges and universities [10]; and $4 million for promising community college-employer partnerships.[11]
