I already posted about this on Marshall's article - they went to Ohio Wesleyan University, not Wesleyan University (they are two different places), as you can clearly see from Marshall's Diploma in "Not a Father's Day." -Because they DID go to Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. The last episode: "The Possimpible", near the end you see Ted editing his resume and work history. It says he was a radio DJ for WESU-FM, which is Wesleyan University's student run radio station. Ohio Wesleyan's student radio's call sign is WSLN. Their college is almost always referred to as "Wesleyan", never "Ohio Wesleyan" or anything of that sort. The diploma might be an inside joke from the show's creators (all Wesleyan alums as am I) because Wes is always confused with other schools (usually Wellesley or Ohio Wesleyan). -I agree with Ychennay, another piece of evidence is in "Ten Sessions" when Stella says she went to Stanford and Ted says "Wesleyan" for himself. Not Ohio Wesleyan. Not only that, but remember in "Arrivederci, Fiero", when they are driving back home for the holidays, and Marshall offers Ted a ride to "pick him up in Ohio" on the way back to school from Minnesota, because he wants to save on gas money. Well, that presumes they are splitting gas from Ohio back to Connecticut, not Ohio to Ohio.

-So would Welseyan University issue a diploma from Ohio Wesleyan university as is clearly evidenced on in "Not a Father's Day" mentioned above. I believe this section isn't very accurate. I believe the "Slapsgiving" first slap mistake was an editing error that was corrected on the DVD and subsequent airings of the episode. The fact that Ted forgets that he didn't mark the +1 box for the wedding isn't really neglecting the fact in an "unreliable narrator" fashion because he does acknowledge at the end that he didn't mark the box after hearings so from the married couple. Lastly, the Blauman thing could simply be explained as though the HIMYM crew didn't think he would be making any more appearances, and that Ted states this as eventually happening, not as "current news in the former timeline". But then there's the goat episode where he forgets which year the goat is at his birthday party, also in How I met Everyone Else, he doesn't remember his dates name, just referring to her as Blah-Blah.

Well I'm not trying to say that Ted's not an unreliable narrator, but wikipedia states that an unreliable narrator is one that has had his/her credibility seriously compromised for any number of reasons. Everything I've stated above, and even the two things that Tej68 has stated aren't indicative of that. The writers have stated that Ted's an unreliable narrator, but I feel like the unreliable parts of his stories will NOT be revealed by Ted or Future Ted himself until the very end. - Theodore is used a lot in the series and Ted has never denied it. In How Lily Stole Christmas, Barney says Theodore Vivian Mosby and Ted replies that it isn't his middle name. Later on in the same episode, his own mother says Ted Evelyn Mosby and who else would know his middle name than his own mother? --Mailiaz (talk) 18:31, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Was it ever said that his middle name was actually "Evelyn" -- I always thought that was something Barney called him out of playful meanness to imply he being too feminine (particularly with his relationship ideals and feelings). How I Met Your Mother is a very popular show. On average, about nine million people see the new shows. I like this show and The Office (US TV series). The difference is, while they are both on the same levels of popularity, The Office has pages for not only their major characters, but also their minor characters as well.
