When has she ever accessed the whistle register or at least hit E6? Myke 06:01, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Her father

Since she was born in Canada, is her father really African-American? What is his citizenship? User:Zoe|(talk) 22:14, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Smith

I doubt that the Anthony Smith listed, who was born in 1983, was married to her in 1995. Anchoress (talk) 01:14, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Overall quality

Casual visitor here, popped in wanting to know more about this person. This article is one of the best I have read on Wikipedia - coherent consistent style, informative, plenty of relevant detail, overall exactly right. Please don't spoil it now by over-editing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.34.218.209 (talk) 08:30, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Casual Visitor, perhaps you know Vanity rather well? Evidently you don't know WKP that well, as it is far from one of the best articles. For a true example of that, see the featured article on the

main page
.

There is entirely too much vanity being shown here. This article has multiple issues. It is over-detailed, promotional in tone, and cannot stay in this form. It fails several of the key content policies on biographical content, including

The point of this page is to be clear and informative, not to be super-comprehensive or to help Vanity sell more copies of her book. In addition to the content and lack of references and citations, the grammar and formatting are a bit of a mess in places. I will try to make a start in improving the overall quality.Centrepull (talk) 10:18, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Manually reverted pointless reversions. No need for an edit war here. When reverting edits or editing this page, please note that WKP entries are intended to be encyclopedic. Also, please summarise your edits. It is not a fan page, nor should it attempt to comprehensively list every time Vanity has coughed on television. Last but not least, it is not a tool to promote Vanity's book. If you want to know all her co-stars in all of her made-for-tv movies, try IMDB. Centrepull (talk) 14:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Best name to use

Im wondering if there is wikipolicy or precedent for the best name to use throughout the article. while she is overwhelmingly known as Vanity, she no longer uses this name, so i wonder if Matthews is best. this is not merely out of respect for a living person (though that is part of it), but about how to represent her here. her early career prior to prince doesnt involve this name, and of course she doesnt use it now, but having two names seems really awkward. I will do some research. I see an editor changed some usage of Matthews to Vanity. i wont revert, and i cant even recall if i made any changes to her name.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 07:24, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Autobiography

I changed the section to say "In 2010 ... released" since the website says "THE BOOK IS FINALLY HERE", but when you click through to the paypal link it still says "preorder" and no-one in the discussions on prince.org seems to have received theirs yet. Maybe someone can re-word it for me.Cancerward (talk) 23:11, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Health

The personal life section states that she undergoes dialysis. However, a few lines later, it says that she has undergone a kidney transplant, which would negate the need for continued dialysis. So which is it? Has she had a transplant or not? David Rush (talk) 03:16, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The two are not mutually exclusive. 98.67.186.26 (talk) 04:22, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sources modified on Vanity (singer)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just attempted to maintain the sources on Vanity (singer). I managed to add archive links to 1 source, out of the total 1 I modified, whiling tagging 0 as dead.

Please take a moment to review my changes to verify that the change is accurate and correct. If it isn't, please modify it accordingly and if necessary tag that source with {{cbignore}} to keep Cyberbot from modifying it any further. Alternatively, you can also add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page's sources altogether. Let other users know that you have reviewed my edit by leaving a comment on this post.

Cheers.—

Ms. Matthews starred in Prince's popular film "Purple Rain", acting as his lover as well as performing.
