Sounds like a commercial (advertisement)!

This is blatantly obvious! Now don't get me wrong; I like the product, and the article appears to be very well referenced/sourced, but the wording definitely needs to be changed to something more neutral. Shanoman (talk) 20:40, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Absorbine Jr.

Absorbine Jr. is nothing more than Absorbine Veterinary liniment diluted with additional water. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:5B0:29FF:3CF0:0:0:0:33 (talk) 20:39, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

COI company update request, I am an employee and owner of this company

  • What I think should be changed: There is a troubling line that had been up for a while that is inaccurate and misleading, and now I think I know how to show how it is inaccurate.
"...known for its Absorbine line of rubefacients (whose medical effectiveness remains disputed), originally formulated as a..."

The linked article on Rubefectants sites supporting references about salycilates. Absorbine does not contain salycilates, so connecting our product to them is misleading. Absorbine Veterinary Liniment is an FDA registered drug product. Its active ingredient is Menthol, not slycilates or salycilitic acid (aspirin) Only Menthol is listed on the label as the Active Ingredients per FDA regulations. Citation below is about Menthol and supports this edit.

Here is a page with an image of the FDA approved label showing Menthol as the main active ingredient. https://absorbine.com/collections/muscle-joint/products/absorbine-veterinary-liniment?variant=40912101114017 Blackadile (talk) 21:06, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can we add to the top paragraph :"...its headquarters are in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. The company recently celebrated its 130th anniversary with employees and industry partners."

Not done: Irrelevant and vaguely promotional-sounding. The important part of the information (the company's age) is already implied by the founding date. mi1yT·C 20:13, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
agree Blackadile (talk) 21:06, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can we add "Fly spray for horses is a major segment of business for the company, and their brand UltraShield(R) is sold in over 40 countries."

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.  mi1yT·C 20:13, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is inaccurate "the company has also acquired other liniment brands including Bigeloil and CoolDown." CoolDown is an original formula created by W.F. Young, not an acquired brand. Suggest: "...the company has also acquired other liniment brands including Bigeloil."

  • Why it should be changed: inaccurate information, would like to add logo image if possible, add information about the company's fly spray which is a large portion of the sales
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):[1]
