The template is in error. Randy White and Randy Gradishar did not tie for the AP defensive player of the year in 1978. Gradishar won it outright. Randy White was Pro Football Weekly's defensive player of the year, not the Associated Press. 72.0.36.36 23:03, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a small notation as to the number of times won for multiple-year winners. There is nothing wrong with denoting the number of times a player has received the award. It is impressive, it fits just fine on the template, and it is info that is easy to miss.--
