Length

This template seems excessively comprehensive. "List of resorts". "Bottled water", "Travel search engine", "passport", "pocket knife" - why don't we include "Toilet paper" too? I'd say that it'd be better if the template were limited to the items in the first section: "Types of Adventure travel", and just leave out the "Retailers & Suppliers", "Equipment", "Hospitality", and "Misc" sections. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 19:25, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I tend to agree - Other than "Types of Adventure travel" the selections under most headings seem to be fairly haphazard and the links lead to articles which don't seem particularly well suited to a reader exploring the subject of adventure travel. -- SiobhanHansa 12:22, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead to trimmed it down to "Types of Adventure travel". ·:· Will Beback ·:· 07:45, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bias

The template, especially the "Outfitters" and "Places" rows, seems centred on Canada. More well-balanced input is welcome. Also, there might be many notable entries for "People"; are they all to be included? Perhaps it is best if only "Types of travel" is kept.Misterx2000 (talk) 15:38, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bold cleanup

I looked at this template for the first time in a while, and found it baffling. For example: what do topics like polyphasic sleep or sattvic diet have to do with adventure travel? Neither article even includes the word "travel."

I also got the impression that someone had confused "adventure travel" with "

undue weight
. I've narrowed that list down some (and it could easily be cut back even further).

While I was pruning, I broke the template into four categories (versus its previous two), adding "Activities" and "Travelers." It looked like too many topics were being randomly shoved into either "Types" or "Miscellaneous," and I for one found it confusing.

Anyhow, that's my rationale; feel free to revert back if you think I'm completely off base (although I'd prefer a discussion here first). DoriTalkContribs 23:52, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
