Things to consider adding

List of things to consider to add to this:

Cburnett 19:53, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What about the Zoo's logo? RaptorRobot 11:58, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Added logo parameters, see template page. Cburnett 07:07, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images

When I tried to put an image of the Memphis Zoo in the infobox it did not work at first. I had to remove the "image_width = " line from the infobox code to make it work. Without that, it would just show lots of blanks after the image filename before the width parameter but not display the image.

It's working now for the Memphis box but someone with more expertise should check if there's something wrong with the template. In case I did something wrong here, please let me know.

Take care, doxTxob \ talk 19:56, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Money, Attendance

One may better assess a zoo (or anything else) by seeing annual attendance figures (or average daily, or whatever) and an annual budget. I recommend these two be added.
I realize that there are problems about giving a budget in "rasputniks" when most of us don't know what the value of a raputnik is in our own currency. But we'll work it out. Student7 (talk) 13:15, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other things to add

I was thinking of adding a few more things such as annual attendance (like above), and also largest_volume (volume of largest tank) & total_volume (total volume of all tanks) so that it is more usable on aquarium pages. I will probably think of more, but i will leave these here for a bit to get some feedback. Chris_huhtalk 14:13, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion: location map

I suggest that we add a location map, syncronized with the coordinates, like its done in the German and Danish versions of this template. Dan Koehl (talk) 09:38, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Strong support Unless if anyone does not support this, I will make sure it gets added later this week. If you have an opinion regarding this, please voice it now. My plan would be to roll it out using Template:Maplink. Thanks! Daylen (talk) 04:30, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Added

parameter "slogan" and parameter "director". Dan Koehl (talk) 17:24, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Change logo and entrance photo. Attraction is called Sea Life Sunshine Coast now, and it is misleading with UnderWater World.

Also the title UnderWater World Sea Life Auquarium needs to be changed into Sea Life Sunshine Coast. Seb Hahn (talk) 06:19, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Seb Hahn:, I will look into this. Dan Koehl (talk) 07:44, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Embedding

Can this template add an embedded= or module= parameter so templates like Infobox NRHP can be combined?--Phospheros (talk) 08:37, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Went ahead and made the change.--Phospheros (talk) 06:59, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

date_established and date_opened

What is the difference between date_established and date_opened and why does date_established not display? Nurg (talk) 01:06, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Adding maps

Can we add maps to go along with the coordinates? either fields of puspin or map with the label and relief features and maybe an image_map too --Cs california (talk) 03:37, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mapping

I would be happy to add mapframe capability to the map, letting it look something like Scioto Audubon Metro Park or either of the examples at Columbus Park of Roses. Per the RfC, though, I need consensus on whether the map should be at the top (below the main image) or very bottom of the infobox. I'm pinging those who've asked about maps: @Cs california:, @Another Believer:, @Elisfkc:. ɱ (talk) 20:43, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also going to try to ping @Dan Koehl: and @Daylen: who commented above. My vote here is for the bottom of the infobox, as logos and images take up a lot of retail space at the top already. ɱ (talk) 20:45, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

, Thank you. I would guess the map belong at the bottom of the template but will yield to consensus. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:49, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agree on map at the bottom. Dan Koehl (talk) 21:07, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, unless others object in the next day or two, I'll set this up. ɱ (talk) 21:35, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
 Done. ɱ (talk) 04:29, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Native name

Could we add a parameter for native name and language, like they have in Template:Infobox museum? 188.148.229.11 (talk) 19:19, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Automatic short description added

I have added code to make this infobox generate an automatic short description on articles that use it. Right now, it tests for three aquarium-specific parameters, but since those parameters are not always filled in, some aquaria and other types of facilities are assigned the short description "Zoo in XX, YY". I think the long-term solution to this problem would be to add a |type= parameter that could be filled in with "Aquarium" or "Animal park" or "Wildlife rehabilitation center" for places that use this infobox but are not best described as zoos. I can add this parameter if there is consensus to do so. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:39, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For examples of articles that currently have invalid short descriptions that would be helped by this change, see Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, Mystic Aquarium, and Cascades Raptor Center. Editors can override the automatic short description with a manual one, we can add |type= and then modify affected articles, or I can undo this change entirely if there are objections to this inaccuracy. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:42, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lua error in Module:Mapframe

I'm hoping someone will investigate the errors in the infobox at these articles:

Presumably the coordinates in the articles need fixing? Johnuniq (talk) 08:20, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

 Fixed. – Jonesey95 (talk) 14:44, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Johnuniq (talk) 00:10, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
