@Oknazevad: I think what that refers to is to autonomy. That from 1994 to 2015, the BOC was under the jurisdiction of the Coptic patriarchate. But now, it is an autonomous (but not autocephalous) entity in Coptic Orthodoxy. I don't know, could you explain? It went back to its original, completely unaffiliated status. In other words, it was founded without any ties to the historical Oriental Orthodox churches at all. In 1994, in search of legitimacy, it sought and was granted status as an autonomous part of the Coptic Church. In 2015 that tie was dissolved and the BOC was left fully unaffiliated again. oknazevad (talk) 10:31, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
