Template Design Proposal

I have recently designed a template using Template:Studio60 as a guide. In my opinion this new template layout and design is more functional and has better aesthetics. A copy of the template is below:

THE OC
EPISODES   |   CATEGORY   |   BROADCASTERS  |   SONGS  |   [1]|WEBSITE]
Primary
Characters
Luke Ward
Secondary
Characters
Kevin Volchok
Places Newport Beach | Orange County | Chino | Berkeley
Music
Mix 6
Key Creators Josh Schwartz | McG | Stephanie Savage

I have added a Music section, and Key Creators section, and I've also added the Category and Songs article as links in the navigational header of the template. There are also a "view • talk • edit" link section. I hope you like it, and please reply with your thoughts below. Stickeylabel 09:19, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! I just noticed this. It looks great. I actually did the Studio 60 template design and am plesed that it was liked enough to be emulated. Nice work.

Very nice. Good work. Bloodloss 21:00, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree. I really like it. :) I looked at it for about 10 minutes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.216.64.18 (talk) 07:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Converting to navbox

Almost all navboxes have been standarised. I suggest we convert the template to something like this:

Sadly I agree. THOUGH I think it would be possible to just add a [hide/show] button, make the template's width 90%, and perhaps change "The OC" font... so when it is closed it looks just like standard navboxes. I'd hate to lose all that formatting, it looks awesome the way it is. I suggest making it look like a navbox when closed, and keep all of the formatting inside basically the same way it is now.TIM KLOSKE|TALK 17:19, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to make it as similar to the original as possible. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:01, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Standardising

WP:NAVBOX states that "Navigational templates are not arbitrarily decorative", as there have been no justifications for colour change I shall revert the navbox to standard form unless there is a consensus otherwise or a justification for it being that way. Removal of nowrap

In April 2011 or thereabouts, the Main Characters section of the template had {{nowrap}} put in it for some reason, making every OC page look too "small" on some browsers. Additionally, one of the secondary character names was italicized. I changed both of those (and miswrote the secondary character's name in the edit reason, for what that's worth). If either of those things were somehow necessary, go ahead and change them back, I suppose, but explain why here. Thanks! ± Lenoxus (" *** ") 17:01, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just realized that the intention was probably to prevent names from splitting due to text wrapping. Under this assumption, I went back and made the Main and Secondary character sections use {{nowraplinks}}, which should do the job. I also de-italicized another name. Perhaps there's a convention I'm unaware of, but if so, I couldn't tell what was special about the two italicized characters. ± Lenoxus (" *** ") 17:08, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
