There are problems with the design of this template because it mixes form and content. Users should not have to wade through wikitext tables to update lists of featured articles and peer reviews. See also my comments at Template talk:WPMILHIST Announcements#Use_of_this_template_at_peer_review_and_design_issues. Geometry guy 10:35, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've done this with the peer reviews to show what I mean. Geometry guy 10:46, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've left you a note on your user talk page, but I see what you've noted with the MilHist one. I really didn't want to have to create multiple transclusions (a la the /Shell), but I suppose if it leaves it cleaner, so much the better. In any case, the template is regularly maintained by the coordinators, so the average user shouldn't have to wade in at all. And it's not that opaque. [[User:Girolamo

Also, how do you put in a credit for special appearance or guest appearance in the film box?Discovery Firm (talk) 09:00, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed change

Instead of manually adding and removing articles, how about replacing that whole section with a transclusion of Article Alerts, e.g.

This would ensure that article announcements are always up to date and significantly cut down on the level of maintenance this template currently requires. Thoughts? PC78 (talk) 00:51, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good, that would also help us to see who is contributing quite a bit to our higher class articles, as well as let us see if there are any premature nominations. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 01:15, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Columns don't work on IE though, so it can look a bit sparse if you use IE on a widescreen monitor. I can try something else if it's a problem. PC78 (talk) 21:30, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
