Terry Alderete
Theresa Eleanor "Terry" Roderick-Alderete (May 17, 1945 in
Alameda County
Women's Hall of Fame in 2012.
Personal life and education
Terry Alderete was born in the
migrant workers. After saving enough money, they started their own strawberry farm.[2][3] Her father died when Alderete was four.[3]
Alderete graduated from Newark High School with honors. After high school, she attended San Jose State University.[2] She intended on studying medicine, but, received her B.S. degree in recreation.[4] Terry had two children and lived in Newark, California.[2][5]
Professional career
After graduating from San Jose State University, Alderete started working at
Dia de los Muertos in Oakland, the Carnaval in San Francisco, and the Mariachi Festival in San Jose.[4][6]
Volunteerism
Alderete has served as Director of the
San Francisco Foundation awards.[2]

She died on 21 March 2013 in Newark of cardiac arrest.[7]
