The

Assam Tribune reported in 2009 that the tribal communities of Assam were accounted for 15.64 percent of the total population.[1]

Groups

The main Scheduled Tribes (Plains) include

Bodo,[3] Deori,[4] Sonowal, Mising,[5] and Hajong.[6] Karbi and Dimasa
people have Scheduled Tribes (Hills) status.
