About me

I am Dutch, born in 1955 and live in Leiden. Wikipedian since 2002.
I worked for the Wikimedia Foundation as Data Analyst from 2008 till 2019.

My blog about Wikimedia stats, Wikimedia projects, LinkedIn profile, Twitter account and art academy projects.

Visualizations: Wikipedia Growth Animated, Wikipedia Edits On A Random Day, Wikipedia Views Visualized.

After my retirement in 2019, I shifted my primary focus to OpenStreetmap. I also started a new project that maps trees in an urban environment. We use data from Wikipedia (and link to its articles), use images from Wikimedia Commons, use maps from Openstreetmap, and open data from the government: tree inventories. The project is called OpenBomenKaart.org.

Disclaimer

Until my retirement in 2019 my work sometimes involved interacting with the Wikimedia community or using Wikimedia wikis for documentation. However, unless otherwise stated, any edit to Wikimedia projects by myself was a reversible act of a regular member of the community, not a legal or official action.
